Member of Corporate Law Committee
Starting December 2013

The Corporate Laws Committee monitors and reviews matters relating to corporate law statutes and developments in the law of corporate governance. The committee also works with the Business Corporation Act Revision Subcommittee, which reviews the Michigan Business Corporation Act for the purpose of keeping it current with developments in corporate law and assists from time to time in drafting and advocating proposed changes in the Act.

The Character & Fitness Committee is a Standing Committee of the State Bar of Michigan that is charged with investigating and determining whether applicants for admission in the State have the requisite character and fitness and to forward that information to the State Board of Law Examiners which has the authority to admit or deny admission.

Legal Aid of Western Michigan is the organization that oversees the Legal Aid offices in 17 Michigan counties and has more than 25 attorneys and 50 support staff. Its mission is: "To secure justice and to protect the rights of persons unable to obtain and pay for legal services in civil matters by the provision of legal representation and counsel."
